Anderson Silva broke a streak of more than four years without victories – five fights – by defeating Derek Brunson at UFC 208, held last Saturday (11), by unanimous decision of the judges. The feat, however, was widely contested by the media, fans and even Dana White, president of Ultimate, who declared that he had seen the North American win in the duel.
Four days after the fight, Anderson Silva decided to comment on the controversy. On a long text published on your social networks, the former middleweight champion countered the criticism, asked for respect for the legacy built and stated, without fear of making mistakes, that he is the best fighter in the world.

“Nowadays it's easy to say that the fight is my root, it's raining people who talk about fight and don't know what they're saying. I arrived very well, without disrespecting anyone, with a lot of struggle and pride in my chest. So, you who talk too much, first try to find out who I am and what I did in this sport.
Do many people find me arrogant and arrogant? Yes, I can be and much more, not because I was considered the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world. No, no, it's because of my achievements, it's because of what I really did for this sport. I broke barriers in every corner of the world where I fought, Pride, Shooto, Mecca and other events that these loudmouths have never heard of and don't know what it's like. I'm from a different time, when there was no weight or time limit. I really fought for passion, not for money or fame.
