The UFC has a new champion on its roster. David Branch, who held two belts at the same time in WSOF, signed with Ultimate after leaving his former organization due to disagreements with managers. The American held the WSOF middleweight and light heavyweight title and defended both regularly. The information is from the North American website “MMA Fighting”.

This will be Branch's second stint in the UFC. Between 2010 and 2011, he had four UFC fights, winning two (over Tomasz Drwal and Rich Attonito) and losing two (against Gerald Harris and the Brazilian Rousimar Toquinho). After his dismissal, the American fought for smaller organizations until reaching WSOF, where he had the greatest phase of his career, winning tournaments to win the event's middleweight and light heavyweight titles.
At 35 years old, Branch is expected to return to Ultimate in May, but he still doesn't have a defined opponent. In his career, the former two-time WSOF champion has 20 wins and three losses – in addition to the setbacks he suffered in the UFC, the American also lost to Anthony Johnson at Titan, in a catchweight fight.
