In the first fight of the night, best for Ryan LaFlare, who dominated Roan 'Jucão' Carneiro and won the judges' unanimous decision (30×26, 30×27, 29×28). This was the American's sixth victory in the organization – all by points -, while the Brazilian suffered his second defeat in four fights in his second stint in Ultimate.

The duel began with Ryan LaFlare surrounding the Brazilian in the octagon, firing a shot at the belt line, well defended by Jucão, who responded in kind.

LaFlare continued to insist on kicks from the waist line, without much success. Roan started to circle the cage, trying to get out of the American's range of action. Jucão tried to take the fight to the ground, but LaFlare defended well and fell on top with the guard passed. On the ground, little effectiveness on both sides. The duel was back on track in the final minute, with the American in control until the bell sounded.

The second round started in the same way as the first: LaFlare pressing and connecting good blows. A left cross hit the Brazilian, which was a knockdown. LaFlare entered the Brazilian's guard and continued throwing elbows at Jucão, who was just defending himself. Despite the advantage on top, LaFlare, perhaps worried about the Brazilian's jiu-jitsu, got up. But barely. The Brazilian, back against the fence, took another left cross and fell again. The American got on top again and punched until the round ended.

LaFlare came back pressuring Roan and throwing some punches into the void. The Brazilian, in turn, responded with two jabs and a cross, but also passed empty. LaFlare risked another high kick, which missed Jucão's head. The two clinched and LaFlare tried a sacrifice takedown, but Jucão defended and stayed on top, in half guard. Jucão swept and tried the submission, in a last act in search of victory, but he didn't have time to work.
