Fan of the New England Patriots, current Super Bowl champion, Dana White made a point of mixing American football with MMA when praising Anderson Silva. The Brazilian, who faces Derek Brunson at UFC 208 next Saturday (11), he was compared by the president of Ultimate to Tom Brady, quarterback and main player of the Boston team.

For Dana White, it is not just genius that brings the two athletes together, but also longevity. While Brady is 39 years old and has just become American football champion for the fifth time, Anderson is 41 years old and held the UFC middleweight belt until he was 38, when he lost the title to Chris Weidman.

“The Tom Brady of the UFC, if you get into the top five or become a world champion, it's very difficult to do that, you're an ace. But if I had to choose one, it would be Anderson Silva. If you look at what the Anderson Silva has done and the time he has been in the game and how he takes care of himself… I would go with Anderson”, commented the manager to the North American channel TMZ.

Anderson will face Brunson in his 43rd professional MMA fight. The former champion has 33 wins, eight losses and one fight without result. Despite the victorious record, the Spider comes from two setbacks, to Michael Bisping and, more recently, before Daniel Cormier. His last official triumph was against Stephan bonnar, at UFC 153.
