One of the biggest obstacles to opening negotiations between Manny Pacquiao and Conor McGregor was undone. Disaffected by UFC president, Dana White, the boxer's promoter, Bob Arum, admitted that he would stay away from any negotiations that could be made between the two stars. This is because White recently mentioned that he would never negotiate with Arum and, therefore, a duel between Pacquiao and McGregor would not happen anytime soon.
“I don’t need to be involved, I don’t need to get in the ring. But this is an easy fight for Manny, I would love to make it happen. If the only thing stopping the fight between Manny Pacquiao and Conor McGregor It's the fact that Dana doesn't like me, I won't stick around. Would give Manny the right and permission to fight with Conor McGregor as long as the scholarship is satisfactory to Manny”, commented Arum to the North American channel TMZ.
However, it is more likely that the UFC lightweight boxing champion's first fight will actually be against Floyd Mayweather. Recently, the Irishman declared that he will begin negotiations soon to leave MMA and venture into boxing, even if for just one fight.
