Former champion of minor events, the Brazilian Alexandre pantoja He only needed one fight for the UFC to enter the organization's flyweight rankings. In the new edition of the rankings, released this Thursday (2), he appears in 15th place, after beating Eric Shelton by split decision at UFC Denver last Saturday (28).

Pantoja participated in the 24th season of The Ultimate Fighter, which only had champion competitors from other organizations. Representing the RFA, the Brazilian reached the semi-finals of the competition, winning two fights and losing one. However, the fights are considered exhibition fights and are not included in the fighters' official record. Therefore, the triumph over Shelton was his first in Ultimate.

Other UFC Denver winners also climbed new positions in the rankings. The heavy weight Francis Ngannou, who knocked out the former champion Andrei Arlovski, jumped from tenth to sixth place, and Jorge masvidal, winner over Donald Cerrone, is now fifth in the welterweight division, moving up seven positions in total. In turn, Julianna Pena, defeated in the main fight by Valentina Shevchenko, fell from second to fourth in the women's bantamweight rankings.
