Ex-UFC, Koscheck debuts in Bellator against Brazilian

More than a year and a half after being signed by Bellator, Josh koscheck will finally make his debut in the organization. He will be against Brazilian Maurício Alonso at Bellator 172, on February 17th, in San José, California (USA), in a duel valid in the welterweight category.

A participant in TUF 1, Koscheck spent practically his entire career in Ultimate, a company in which he had 25 of the 27 fights he has on his record. His debut was in the distant year of 2005, when he knocked out Chris Sanford. In total, he accumulated 15 wins and 10 losses in the UFC, having challenged for the belt in the 77kg category in 2010, but was surpassed by the then champion Georges St Pierre. At 39 years old, Josh is coming off five consecutive defeats, the most recent against Erick silva, in March 2015.

Alonso, in turn, is going through the opposite phase, having won his last two fights. At 36 years old, this will be the Brazilian's second stint with Bellator. He already played in the franchise in September 2015, when he was defeated by Nick Pica in a unanimous decision by the judges. In total, he has 12 triumphs and seven setbacks on his record.
