It is defined: Yoel romero will be the next challenger Michael Bisping, current UFC middleweight champion (up to 84kg). The confirmation was made by Dana White, president of Ultimate, who stated that the duel, which does not yet have a set date, will take place as soon as the Englishman recovers from the surgery performed on the left knee.

I always showed Henderson the respect I thought he deserved. He's a guy who fought with everyone. So we had that fight and now Bisping is going to defend the belt against the number 1 contender. If you see what Romero did with Chris Weidman, he absolutely deserves the chance”, declared the president, in an interview with the UFC Unfiltered program, in the United States.
Bisping won the middleweight belt with a knockout Luke Rockhold at UFC 199, in June 2016. Since then, he has only performed once, when he defended his title against Dan Henderson at UFC 204 last October.
Yoel romero, 39 years old, still doesn't know what it's like to lose in Ultimate. In the organization since 2013, he won the eight fights he had, six of which by knockout, the most recent over Chris Weidman at UFC 205, in November last year.
