Read Aisling Daly's retirement post:

“I am officially retiring from MMA. A routine MRI of my brain showed evidence of the presence of an abnormal remnant of hemorrhage, which had reportedly occurred over the past few months. It would be unlikely that I would be medically cleared to fight. Even if an event found a doctor who gave the go-ahead, it wouldn't be smart of me to continue competing with the risks of MMA. My career ended prematurely, but I am happy for my many achievements. I am and will always be 'Ais I', and my legacy is set in stone in Irish MMA. I am the country's first world champion, and the only woman to achieve this feat. From the bottom of my heart, I would like to thank the fans who tirelessly supported me and my friends and teammates. I thank my family, who has always been by my side to rebuild me during my career, especially now that my dream has fallen apart. I was very lucky to grow up within an incredible team like SBG. I am prepared to be a great coach and member of the MMA community. I'm looking forward to the new challenges. “New beginnings are often disguised as painful endings” – Lao Tzu.”
