Mayweather responds to McGregor: 'Let's give the fans what they want'

Former boxing champion praised his rival's stance and reiterated his desire to organize a superfight, which would be at catchweight between 66 kg. and 68 kg.

Shortly after being offended by Conor McGregor, former boxer Floyd Mayweather reacted with good humor to his rival's insults and reiterated his desire to organize a boxing fight with the UFC champion. “Money” made a point of praising McGregor’s posture in front of the cameras, his standing skills and said he wants to marry the fight to “give the fans what they want”.

“I believe the fight can happen. Conor McGregor, as I said before, is a tough competitor. He has proven through his years in the UFC that he can fight on his feet. Now we have to see what the future holds. I truly believe the fans want this fight. Fans have been asking for this fight. It's all entertainment. He's very interesting, very sincere like me, so let's give the fans what they want to see”, commented Mayweather to the North American TV channel “Showtime”.

Boxing champion in categories ranging from 59 kg. at 66,7 kg., the North American intends to fight against Conor McGregor, champion up to 70 kg. of Ultimate (but former owner of the 66 kg belt), at a weight that could vary from 66 kg. to 68 kg., depending on negotiations between the two. Everything indicates that they should happen soon, when the Irishman goes to Las Vegas to officially apply for his boxing license in the state of Nevada.
