The third edition of Submission Underground was a success for UFC fighters. Brazilian Antônio Carlos “Shoe Face” and the North American Chad Mendes submitted their opponents Garry Tonon and Jeff Glover, respectively, in two of the main fights of the event. In the main fight, victory for Dillon Danis, jiu-jitsu coach from Conor McGregor, about AJ Agazarm. At the end of the fight, Danis provoked Jon Jones, calling for a fight between the two under grappling rules.

Shoe Face replaced Chael Sonnen, owner of the event, who was banned from participating by Bellator. Even though he weighed much more than Tonon, the Brazilian's victory was impressive, as he managed a flying triangle over one of the greatest fighters today.

Yes, Chad Mendes submitted Jeff Glover with a rear naked choke, but in strange circumstances. Glover even made Mendes give up, submitting him in overtime, after 35 seconds.
