“Let’s hit the brakes. Let her defend her belt first. She hasn't defended her belt yet. Now everyone wants to move up a category. We need to hold back this wave a little”, declared the president, in conversation with journalists after UFC Denver, last Saturday (28). forgetting that the fight between Amanda nunes e Ronda Rousey at UFC 207, last December, it was the Brazilian's first title defense, as she won the title against Miesha Tate at UFC 200.

Recently, Amanda stated that she would like to face the organization's first female featherweight champion, and admitted that a duel against Holly holm, former holder of the bantamweight belt, would be more interesting for her.

“I want to move up to featherweight and face Holly holm for the belt, because I think she will beat Germaine. She is better and should win this fight. Fans want to see this duel, because we are the only ones who won Ronda Rousey. It would be a great fight. I haven't had time to talk about this with the UFC yet, because I haven't stopped since the fight against Ronda, but I've made it clear on my social media. I will speak with Dana White soon. I want to face Holly holm and then see what happens. Of the two fighters who performed in Denver, one I already beat and the other wouldn't do a main event with me. I want to do the main fight of a numbered event, I want to do big fights, like my last one. I want to make history, and Holly holm is the best name for it”, said the champion, in a recent interview.
