Thiago Alves' adventure in the lightweight division lasted just one fight. After failing to reach the weight limit for the new category (70 kg.) and losing to Jim Miller At UFC 205, the Brazilian announced that he will return to the welterweight division, where he spent most of his UFC career. Pitbull's own expectation is that he will return to the octagon in April, thus ruling out the possibility of joining UFC Fortaleza, his hometown. There is still no defined opponent for his return to 77 kg. The first Ultimate event in Brazil in 2017 takes place on March 11th.

“I'm bringing this pitbull back to the welterweight division in April! News of the fight will appear soon. The best is yet to come, let’s have fun!” posted the fighter on his official Instagram.
