UFC intends to put Cigano in a title fight against Miocic

The UFC intends to promote junior gypsy the heavyweight title challenger, after the cancellation of the Brazilian's fight against Stefan struve, which would take place at UFC Halifax. Cigano and Miocic have already faced each other in the main fight of UFC Phoenix held in December 2014. On that occasion, in a very balanced and bloody fight, the Brazilian won by unanimous decision. Since then, the American has not lost again, winning four in a row, including a knockout victory over Fabricio Werdum, at UFC 198, which won him the heavyweight title. Miocic has already defended the belt once, at UFC 203, against alistair overeem.

Cigano has had to deal with several injuries and, since the duel with the current champion, he has one defeat (to Overeem) and one victory, over Ben Rothwell. It will be the Brazilian's fifth fight involving a belt. He won the title at the end of 2011, from Cain Velásquez, defended the crown against Frank mir and then lost twice to Velásquez himself.
