After a tough defeat to Dennis Bermudez last year, Ron Jason will take a step back in his career to get back to winning ways. The Brazilian was confirmed for UFC Fortaleza on March 11, where he will face the unknown Canadian Jeremy kennedy, undefeated in nine professional fights, but with just one UFC fight – victory over Alessandro Ricci, also last year.
Before the setback to Bermudez, the TUF Brasil 1 champion had won his last fight, at UFC Goiânia, in 2015, against Damon Jackson. However, the Brazilian was caught in an anti-doping test, suspended and his triumph was turned into a no contest. This means that Ron Jason hasn't officially won a fight since March 2014, almost three years ago.
UFC Fortaleza will have as its main fight a middleweight duel between Vitor belfort e Kelvin Gastelum. The most important fights of the event include Edson Barboza x Beneil Dariush (light hair), Mauritius Shogun x Gian Villante (in light heavyweight) and Bethe Correia x Marion Reneau (roosters).
