Donald Cerrone He is known for his “hungry” style, always staying very active and not refusing opponents. And if it depends on the fighter himself, the status will be maintained in 2017. With the fight scheduled for next Saturday (28), when he faces Jorge masvidal at UFC on Fox 23, the ‘Cowboy’ is already making plans for the rest of the season, including a duel against Demian Maia and five more fights in the year.

“I wanted to fight in March. I know there will be a title fight at UFC 209 (Woodley x Thompson), so I have to take one of the main challengers. I hope the Demian Maia stop waiting for a fight or, who knows, the Robbie Lawler. I don’t even care who is behind me in the rankings”, declared Cerrone, in an interview with the website “Fox Sports” (USA).
In addition to challenging the Brazilian, the fighter also wants to face another top fighter in the welterweight division: the former champion Robbie Lawler. As a bonus, he revealed that his intention is to win the category belt and defend it three times in 2017.

Cerrone, 5th in the category ranking, is on a four-fight winning streak, all via the fast track – the most recent was at UFC 206, on December 10, 2016, when he knocked out Matt Brown in the third round. Of the last 15 times he stepped into the octagon, he won 13, being beaten only twice, both times by the Brazilian Rafael dos Anjos.
