Apparently, the middleweight champion returns Michael Bisping to the octagon is far from happening. Despite having been exchanging barbs with Yoel romero, the likely next challenger in the category, the Englishman revealed this Thursday (19) that he will need to undergo knee surgery, due to a slight tear in the meniscus, which would make it impossible for him to fight in the coming months.

“I actually recently found out that I have to have knee surgery. Nothing important, just to get it in order. I have a slightly torn meniscus, and other things going on, so I have to have this surgery and take care of the knee. We programmed it and I should do it in the next few weeks”, said Bisping, in an interview with the “Fight Network” program in Canada.
After winning the division belt in June 2016, when he knocked out Luke Rockhold at UFC 209, Bisping only acted once, when he defended his title by hitting Dan Henderson by points at UFC 204, last October. According to the champion, he is expected to fight again in May. “Taking care of that, I'll probably defend the belt around May, something like that I think,” added the fighter.
