Amanda Nunes wants to fight for the featherweight belt: “We’re going to make history”

Bantamweight champion (up to 61kg) wants to face the first champion of the featherweight category (up to 66kg)

After making history by knocking out Ronda Rousey in just 48 seconds, in the main fight of UFC 207, on December 30th, the bantamweight champion (up to 61kg) Amanda nunes wants to achieve another memorable feat in the organization: winning the featherweight category belt (up to 66kg). Through her social networks, the Brazilian posted an image challenging the winner of the confrontation between Holly holm e Germain de Randamie, who will compete for the division's inaugural title at UFC 208, on February 11th.

“I’m ready to make history in women’s MMA… I want the winner,” Nunes wrote in English. In Portuguese, she repeated: “We are going to make history in the world, I want to fight with whoever wins”, wrote the Lioness.

Interestingly, Amanda already knocked out Randamie, in 2013, in her second fight in the UFC. It is worth highlighting that Amanda nunes He has already played in the featherweight division (up to 65,8kg), in his debut in the USA, for the now-defunct Strikeforce, in 2011. On that occasion, he knocked out the Canadian julia budd in just 14s. Since then, he has had 11 more fights – all at bantamweight –, winning eight and losing three.
