UFC Phoenix, which opens the 2017 Ultimate calendar, will take place this Sunday (15) and will have as its main attraction the return to MMA of the legendary B.J. Penn. In the main fight of the night, he faces the promising Yair Rodriguez, which comes from five consecutive victories within the organization. The Hawaiian hasn't fought since July 2014, when he lost to Frankie Edgar in his featherweight debut. In addition to being one of three fighters to win titles in two different divisions, Penn is also a member of the UFC Hall of Fame.

In the second most important fight of the night, UFC Phoenix will feature a fight between two jiu-jitsu specialists. Polish Marcin Held tries to erase his debut with defeat in Ultimate and faces the experienced Joe lauzon, one of the greatest finishers in the lightweight division.
On the preliminary card, the highlight goes to the only Brazilian in action this Sunday: Augusto Tanquinho. He faces Frankie Saenz and will also look for his first victory in Ultimate. He debuted last year losing by knockout to cody garbrandt, current bantamweight champion.
All 24 athletes who make up the event will participate in the official weigh-in this Saturday (14). From 22pm (Brasília time), the weights of each fighter will be announced, in addition to the always intriguing official looks before the duel. O SUPER FIGHTS broadcast everything live!
