Rafael Dos Anjos announced that he would move up to welterweight a few days ago, but there is already a candidate wanting to welcome him to the new division. The Belgian Tarec saffiedine, 13th in the rankings, known for being the last champion of the category in Strikeforce, challenged the Brazilian to his debut fight at 77kg.

Through his official Twitter, Saffiedine posted a message directed at Dos Anjos, using a hashtag, which indicates that he expects the fight between the two to be a lot of striking. The Belgian also indicated that he intends to fight Rafael in the UFC London, in March.

Rafael announced his promotion after two consecutive defeats at lightweight, to Eddie Alvare and Tony Ferguson. Saffiedine also comes from two setbacks: he lost to South Korean Dong Hyun Kim at UFC 207, at the end of last year, and against Rick Story, in May 2016.
