The history of José Aldo was presented to the general public last week in the series 'Stronger than the world'. However, the plot, shown on Rede Globo in four chapters, did not correctly portray some moments of the fighter's career.

Luciano Azevedo, responsible for the first defeat in Aldo's career, showed his indignation at the way the fight between them was reported in the film.

In a long post on Facebook, Luciano reported the errors in the series when showing his fight against Aldo. The program shows that the UFC champion dominated the entire fight against Azevedo and was only finished after he was distracted by the audience.

“I won because I managed to fit my game in. Nor does he beat me the way he shows in the film. I managed to perform with excellence what I set out to do, beating him by submission. I didn't 'get caught' so much that my face came clean and a week after the fight, I was already fighting in England, even winning by submission”, says Luciano.

The film 'Aldo, Stronger than the World', turned into a miniseries by Rede Globo, contains other historical errors. In winning the WEC belt in José Aldo, the plot shows that then champion Mike Thomas Brown came close to knocking out the Brazilian in the first round, something that never happened. The Brazilian dominated the first round and won by knockout at the beginning of the second round.

Complete report by Luciano Azevedo

Despite this film about José Aldo Having come out a while ago, I wasn't interested in watching it. Just like I didn't watch the Globo series. But I'm very surprised by the way my fight with him is portrayed. That night he was fine. The only difference is that I didn't play along with him. I don't consider that I defeated him through distraction, as they said happened in the film.

I won because I managed to fit my game, which is ground fighting. Nor does he beat me the way he shows in the film. I managed to perform with excellence what I set out to do, beating him by submission. I didn't 'get caught' so much that my face came clean and a week after the fight, I was already fighting in England, even winning by submission.

The only strikes from him that really went in were his low kicks. And the fight ended in the second round, not the third, as they say it appears in the film. What the film doesn't show is that if he hadn't escaped from the ring in the first round, the single leg that had already put him down would have preceded a perfect submission.

It's important to highlight that at no point in the fight did he take me down. There are other moments in this fight that fiction portrays in a bad way and even doesn't report, hides, but YouTube is there for anyone who wants to access them. However, I continue to support him, just as I support all Brazilians in MMA.
