The champion cody garbrandt has two options for the first defense of his title: a rematch with his last victim, Dominick Cruz, or a fight against TJ Dillashaw, his former teammate. And it seems that “No Love” didn’t like the way TJ left Team Alpha Male and would like to face him soon:

“I don’t mind kicking TJ’s ass. He was a cancer for our team and he tried to destroy everything, he did everything on a personal level. He is a terrible provocateur. Terrible”, commented Garbrandt, on the UFC Unfiltered podcast.

Garbrandt also claimed to have knocked out Dillashaw when he was still at the beginning of his professional career and denied that the former champion made him cry during training.

“I'm going to save everyone from buying the pay-per-view and airing the video where I knock out TJ when I only had one victory in my career. A victory. That sucker never made me cry. I wasn't looking at the knocked out ceiling. It was him”, he concluded.

Garbrandt became bantamweight champion at UFC 207, the last Ultimate event in 2016. On that occasion, he won Dominick Cruz, who had been undefeated for almost ten years, by unanimous decision.
