The year 2016 is already in the books and the UFC calendar last season ended last Friday (30), with the Brazilian Amanda nunes 'running over' Ronda Rousey in the main fight of UFC 207, held in Las Vegas (USA).

To start 2017 in style, the SUPER FIGHTS prepared a special to remember the best things that happened in the UFC in 2016, starting with a list of the five best fights from last year:

Nate Diaz x Conor McGregor 2

The rematch between Nate diaz e Conor McGregor it was, without a doubt, one of the most important moments of 2016. After submitting the Irishman at UFC 196, in March, Diaz conceded a second fight to his rival at UFC 202, on August 20th.

“Choking” with the setback suffered, Conor corrected the holes in his game, was more strategic and beat Nate in the majority decision (48–47, 47–47, 48–47), cleaning up the stain on his record. Much was complained about the fact that McGregor “ran” in some moments of the duel, but the three knockdowns applied in addition to the greater volume of blows in three of the five rounds showed the superiority of the lightweight champion.

Robbie Lawler vs Carlos Condit

At the first event of 2016, Robbie Lawler e Carlos Condit fought a five-round war in the main fight of UFC 195, in Las Vegas, on January 2nd.

At the time, Lawler was defending his second belt, while Condit was fighting for the title for the third time in his career. After 25 minutes and a striking show delivered to the fans, Ruthless was declared the winner in a split decision by the judges (48-47, 47-48 and 48-47). It is worth remembering that the former champion had already had the 'Fight of the Year' in 2015, when he knocked out Rory McDonald at UFC 189.

Anderson Silva x Michael Bisping

2016 was definitely the best year of my career Michael Bisping. The first step, however, was taken against Anderson Silva, in February, when he overcame the former champion in the main fight of UFC London, February 27th.

The confrontation was quite controversial, marked by two knockdowns applied by Bisping to Anderson and even a “knockout that didn't happen” by the Brazilian over the European. At the end of 25 minutes full of twists and turns, better for the Englishman, who took advantage in three rounds (48-47, 48-47 and 48-47) and recorded, until then, the biggest victory of his record.

TJ Dillashaw vs. Dominick Cruz

on the return of Dominick Cruz to the octagon after overcoming a series of knee injuries, the “Dominator” reminded the world why he is considered by many to be the best bantamweight of all time.

cross and TJ Dillashaw fought a technical and tense fight in the main event of ufc boston, January 17th. In the end, Dominick's movement and superior footwork were worth it, as he prevailed in a split decision from the judges (48-47, 46-49 and 49-46) and regained the under-61kg division belt.

Cub Swanson x Doo Ho Choi

The fight between Cub swanson and Doo Ho Choi was surrounded by expectations, but few people imagined that the battle would become the main candidate for the fight of the year award.

On the main card of UFC 206, on December 10th, the featherweights presented MMA fans with a true show of striking, determination and heart, with both fighters demonstrating power of reaction and a lot of technique during the 15 minutes. At the end, the fans were euphoric and on their feet to applaud Swanson's victory, achieved by unanimous decision from the judges (30-27, 30-27 and 29-28).
