The Brazilian Marlon moraes, one of the best bantamweights outside of the UFC, retained his 61,2-pound belt. of the WSOF, last Saturday (31) thanks to a technical knockout victory over compatriot Josenaldo Silva. The end of the fight came after the challenger suffered a knee injury at 2:30 of the first round.

WSOF 34, the promotion's debut in New York, had three other titles up for grabs. In a duel between former UFC fighters, champion Jon Fitch won Jake Shields by unanimous decision, and indicated that it may have been his last fight. David Branch, middleweight and light heavyweight champion, defended the 84 kg belt, beating Louis Taylor by submission in the fifth round.

Finally, lightweight champion Justin Gathje also emerged victorious, beating Brazilian Luiz Buscapé due to medical interruption. The two had been having the most lively fight of the event, but in the interval between the third and fourth rounds, the doctor recommended the end of the fight to the referee due to Buscapé's swollen eye.
