Jiu-jitsu world champion Augusto ‘Tanquinho’ already has a date and opponent set for his return to the Octagon. He will face Frankie Saenz at UFC Phoenix on January 15th. The information is from the ‘Fox Sports’ website (USA).
Tanquinho, 33 years old, only had one fight in Ultimate. He faced cody garbrandt in February this year, when he was knocked out in the first round and lost his unbeaten record in MMA. Previously, the Brazilian had won the five fights he had, four by submission and one by knockout.
Saenz is more experienced than his next opponent. At 36 years old, the American has a record of 11 wins and four losses, having fought five times in the UFC – three triumphs and two setbacks. He hasn't played since last July, when he was knocked out by Eddie Wineland.
UFC Phoenix will be the organization's first event in 2017 and will feature a duel between Yair Rodriguez e B.J. Penn in the main fight.
