Two fights were added to the UFC Halifax card, in Canada, on February 19, 2017. The welterweight (up to 77kg) Santiago Ponzinibbio faces Frenchman Nordine Taleb, while Reginaldo Vieira will measure forces with Aiemann Zahabi, in a duel valid for the rooster category (up to 61kg). The information is from the “Cage of Bones” page, and the fighters themselves confirmed the duels on their social networks.

At 30 years old, Ponzinibbio, the “good Argentine”, is going through his best phase within the organization, with three consecutive victories, two of which by knockout in the first round. His last fight was in August of this year, when he defeated Zak Cummings on points. In total, he has five triumphs and two defeats in Ultimate. His opponent is an old acquaintance of Brazilians. Taleb, 35 years old, delivered a devastating knockout to Erick silva, in March this year. Previously, it had been completed by Warlley alves, in August 2015. He has four victories and one setback in the company.
TUF Brazil 4 Champion, Reginaldo Vieira, 34 years old, seeks rehabilitation in the organization. After winning the reality prize by overcoming Dileno Lopes in August last year, Reginaldo was submitted by Marco Beltran, in July this year. Zahabi, in turn, makes his UFC debut. At 29 years old, the Canadian has an undefeated record of six victories in six fights.
The main fight of UFC Halifax will be a duel between heavyweights Junior Gypsy e Stefan struve. The clashes between Cezar Mutant x Elias Theodorou and Thiago Marreta x Jack Marshman are also confirmed for the show.
