While some UFC champions like to 'pick' their opponents, Stipe Miocic, holder of the heavyweight belt, breaks the rule and cares little about the name of his next opponent. In the current scenario, three names are competing for the challenger spot: Fabricio Werdum, Cain Velazquez e Junior Gypsy. Confident, Miocic claims he has the weapons to beat any of the three fighting fighters.

“I really don’t care who I fight. They ask me, but I don't care who it will be, Cain, Werdum or Junior Gypsy. It's going to be a good fight with anyone, but I match well with all three and it doesn't matter who they put in front of me. I'm going to keep this belt for a long time, so it doesn't matter who the opponent is. I'm going to win” said the fighter, in an interview with the website 'MMA Junkie' (USA), to guarantee, afterwards, that the title will not change hands anytime soon.
“I want to keep winning to keep the belt with me for a long time. I trained very hard over the last 10 years to get where I am. I train very hard and I'm not going to give up. I don’t want to be corny, but I trained really hard to be champion and I’m not going to give up easily”, he concluded.
Stipe Miocic, 34 years old, won the heavyweight belt in May this year, when he knocked out Fabricio Werdum in the main fight of UFC 198, held in Curitiba. He defended his belt on one occasion, against alistair overeem, last September, at UFC 203. On that occasion, he also knocked out his opponent in the first round. In total, there are ten victories and only two defeats in Ultimate, the last one to Junior Gypsyin December 2014.
