Emerson Falcão Vieira, one of those responsible for sharpening the UFC featherweight champion's striking, José Aldo, achieved an impressive knockout in the main fight of WGP 35, a kickboxing event, held in Fortaleza, last Friday (2).
The Nova União representative returned from a two-year layoff due to injuries, but managed to put out Paraguayan Oscar Veras with a flying knee, in just 1m38s of combat. The fight was fought at catchweight and was not worth the belt to Falcão, the organization's super lightweight champion (64,4 kg). In addition to Aldo, Falcão also takes care of muay thai and kickboxing for the main names in the Rio gym, such as Thales leites.
Emerson's next duel should be for the unification of the super-lightweight belt. Also at WGP 35, Anderson Buzika beat Guilherme Sanchos by decision, winning the interim title of the category and the right to face the lineal champion.
