Conor McGregor may appear in 'Game of Thrones'

UFC champion reportedly received an invitation from one of the directors of the hit series, who is an MMA fan

Less than a month after making UFC history by becoming the first simultaneous champion of two categories, Conor McGregor may be paving the way for a new career: acting. The lightweight champion was invited to appear in the series “Game of Thrones”, one of the biggest shows on American TV.

McGregor would have received an invitation from one of the series' directors, a fan of MMA and the Irishman in particular. There are still no details on when the UFC champion would make his appearance, nor in relation to the size of his character within the plot of the series, which will have its final season in 2018. The information comes from the Northern Irish newspaper Belfast Live,

It is not the first time that Conor McGregor was linked to “Game of Thrones”. Last year, the Irishman trained with Hafthór Julius Bjornsson, an actor who appears in the series as Gregor “The Mountain” Clegane. The two sparred during McGregor's preparation for UFC 194, when the Irishman knocked him out José Aldo and became the Ultimate featherweight champion. The training video has almost 23 million views on social media.
