Apparently, if it depends on Claudia gadelha, the Brazilian already knows who she would like to face in her next fight. Through her social networks, Claudinha posted a message, in English, provoking Carla esparza, former UFC strawweight champion. In the publication, Gadelha insinuated that her rival “ran away” from difficult fights.
“What fighter is Carla? She doesn't want to fight the best, she makes up excuses to have easy fights. I want to be the best. In my last fight, I asked to fight the best in the division. Unfortunately she doesn't feel the same way. Carla and other names in the division declined the fight. And my only option was Courtney. I accepted with the promise that if I won, I would fight Carla. Now she is refusing, complaining that she has no money. Do you want money, little girl? She enters the octagon and fights. I have the cars I want, two houses and money in the bank at 27 years old. You know why? Because I accept challenges. I lost my title fight with pride and wasn't expecting an easy fight to get back on the path to victory. Before fighting for the title I was out of action for a year, and you're complaining about eight months? The first thing I said to the guys who match fights in the UFC was: “Please give me someone who is in the top 5”. You can find excuses and run, but you won’t disappear, I will find you soon,” Gadelha wrote.
Esparza, however, wasted no time and retorted to the Brazilian, saying that a duel between the two should have already happened on two occasions, but it didn't happen, according to the American, because of Gadelha.
“If I remember correctly, I showed up to fight you twice. And you didn't show up! The second time was because you cut so much weight that you ended up in the hospital. I also showed up on TUF 20 to fight you (for the third time), and again you didn't show up. Why? Because it was too heavy to make weight. Sorry if I maintain 56,7kg and you reach 70,3kg. Are you too scared to face people your own size? I've proven that I'll show up to confront you, but just because you scream and cry like a brat doesn't mean you'll intimidate me. Trust me, the fight will happen. I wasn’t scared to fight you then and I’m not scared now,” Esparza responded.
Number one in the category ranking, Claudia gadelha is coming off a victory over Cortney Casey in the UFC Sao Paulo, November 19th. Already Carla esparza, 3rd on the list, last performed at UFC 199, in June, when she beat Brazilian Juliana Lima.
