Belfort considers rematch with Anderson: 'It's a fight the fans want to see'

Belfort and Anderson faced each other for the first time in February 2011, with “Spider” winning with a cinematic knockout in the first round. The fight represented a milestone for MMA in Brazil, as the sport gained great popularity in the country with the duel.

Therefore, Belfort believes that the plan makes sense for both. “It was never anything personal against Anderson, he had what I wanted, which was the title. I think it's a fight that the fans want to see, and the UFC is willing to sit down and negotiate. I know they want to have big fights. But if they are going to make a lot of money, let us also make money from this fight. It would be a really big fight”, analyzed Belfort, in an interview with the “Giro Combate” program.

The UFC will return to Brazil in March, and, if the event is held in his hometown, Belfort has offered to participate. “My camp has already started, I want to fight in the first semester. If the fight in March is in Rio, I'm in. I went a lot out of my characteristic, which is to attack, and that's what I'm going to do again from now on”, he guaranteed.

Belfort's last fight in the octagon was in October, when he was knocked out by Gegard Mousasi. Before, the “Phenomenon” had also lost to Ronaldo Jacare.
