The Brazilian, who normally weighs 66 kg, had two fights at 63 kg in Ultimate. In the first, she ran over Leslie Smith at UFC 198, in Curitiba (PR). Months later, in Brasília, she surpassed Lina Lansberg.

According to Cyborg, who had great difficulties making weight, fighting at 63 kg only makes sense if it's against a big name. “The first time I weighed 63 kg in Brazil, in Curitiba, I only did it because it would be in my city. The main thing I wanted to do was open up an opportunity, maybe to have a super fight with Ronda Rousey at 63 kg. And I showed that I can make that weight. My next fight was supposed to be at 66 kg, but, again, I had the opportunity to fight at 63 kg in Brazil. I really respect all my opponents, but nobody knew the girl from my last fight. She had 70 muay thai fights, she was an excellent opponent, but if she were to weigh 63 kg, she wanted it to be in a super fight, in something that the fans would like to see. Sometimes, it’s not worth weighing 63 kg to fight like that”, said the Brazilian, in an interview with the “Submission Radio” podcast.

Cyborg, 31, is the Invicta FC featherweight champion, but has not defended her title since January. His next fight has not yet been confirmed.
