The night did not start well for the Brazilian representatives. At the opening in UFC Sao Paulo, the representative of Nova União Francimar Bodão suffered a quick defeat against the debutant Darren stewart.

Right at the beginning of the fight, Stewart avoided the exchange and clinched. Even though Bodão resisted the fall, which provoked boos from the public, the fight was solo afterwards. The Brazilian complained about a headbutt during the fight standing up, and when he fell, he suffered a machine gun of blows, which caused the referee to interrupt after less than two minutes of action.

PUBLICITY:

The Brazilian was outraged by the alleged headbutt. “It was unfair. I have more than 40 fights in my career and I have never headbutted any opponent. Everyone saw that he headbutted me. At the time, I got a little groggy and looked at the judge so he could stop the fight. I think this is very unfair, I am very indignant,” he complained. The Brazilian MMA Athletic Commission reviewed the case using a replay, but considered that the blow was not forceful enough to cancel the fight.

In one of the most promising fights on the entire card, UFC Sao Paulo, Peter Munhoz and Justin Scoggins fought a highly technical battle in the Octagon. In the end, better for the Brazilian, who won in the second round.

PUBLICITY:

The fight began with both abusing kicks: Munhoz punished Scoggins' thigh, who responded with plastic blows to the face and body. No matter how much the Brazilian walked forward, Scoggins found space and found his distance.

In the second round, Scoggins seemed to have a greater advantage and connected several blows to the Brazilian's face. At one point, the American attempted a kick and ended up falling, which opened up an opening for Munhoz to cut short and finish with a tight guillotine choke.

Luis KLB beats Danish without any fear

KLB

Another Brazilian victory in the third fight of the night. Luis Henrique KLB won without much fear in the only heavyweight duel of the night, passing the Danish Christian Colombo with a submission.

The fight had rare moments of greater movement. KLB had a clear strategy of feinting the striking and taking the fight to the ground, which he achieved without any major difficulties. The Brazilian worked with strikes on the ground, while Colombo did little to react. In the third round, KLB landed a guillotine and obtained his second consecutive victory in the Octagon.

Eduardo knocks out and retires Gamburyan

Johnny Eduardo, representing the Nova União academy, came out on top in a veterans' duel with Manny Gamburyan. The Brazilian found the path to victory in the second round and achieved a technical knockout.

The first round was studied, with Gamburyan moving forward and Eduardo responding in kind. The Brazilian worked with kicks to the thigh, which left a big bruise on the Armenian.

In the second round, Eduardo took advantage of an entry from Gamburyan to connect with a well-aimed jab, which took his rival to the ground. There, he only needed to throw a few more punches to complete the job.

Gamburyan was irritated by his performance and threw his mouthguard towards the crowd. Shortly afterwards, he announced his retirement from fighting.

Pezão suffers quick submission against Russian

Veteran of TUF Brazil 3, Marcos Foot suffered a quick defeat in his hometown. The Brazilian started aggressively, but ended up falling into a Russian trap Gadzhimurad Antigulov even in the initial moments of the duel.

Pezão and Antigulov started aggressively, with good combinations on the feet. The Russian immediately got the takedown and tried to work with ground and pound. Pezão reacted by hitting a good pedal stroke, but Antigulov continued hitting on top. The Brazilian then reversed positions and fell on top, but the Russian took advantage of the gap to land a guillotine choke – which ended the duel in just over a minute.

Mutant fights intelligently and finishes

TUF Brazil 1 Champion, Cezar Mutant It was one of the highlights of the first fights of the night. The Brazilian fought intelligently against the Swede Jack hermansson and fired up the crowd with a submission in the second round.

Mutante avoided taking risks in his striking and abused his movement. Hermansson tried to counterattack, but the Brazilian defended himself well and attacked cautiously. In the second round, Mutante took the fight to the ground and settled the score with a katagatame, also known as a hand triangle.
