About to have his first fight in his hometown for Ultimate, Sergio Moraes Already making plans for after UFC Sao Paulo. In an exclusive interview with SUPER FIGHTS, the jiu-jitsu black belt expressed his desire to defeat Zak Ottow resoundingly this Saturday (12) and then challenge ranked athletes in the welterweight division.
“I'm sure I'm close to the ranking. I won the Neil Magny who is there, is number eight in the ranking [NR: Magny is 9th] and will now fight with John hendricks. So I think two more fights and I'll be among the top 10 or top 15 in the category”, commented the TUF Brazil 1 veteran. “I want to fight anyone in the top 10. It can be whoever it is, but it has to be top 10. I have to be given the opportunity to show that I deserve to be there.”
Serginho commented that he insisted on fighting at the Ibirapuera gym: “When I found out that there was going to be this UFC here in São Paulo, I really wanted to fight here and they [the organization] said they wanted me to fight here. They know how popular I am in the city, so let's see how it goes from the weigh-in to the day of the fight, then we'll be able to feel the heat of the fans,” he said.
O UFC Sao Paulo will be held this Saturday (19) and will start at 21pm (Brasília time) with full coverage of the SUPER FIGHTS, with narration of the fights in real time, combat reports and post-event interviews.
