McGregor takes second place in the UFC weight-for-pound rankings

Miesha Tate continues in the ranking, but drops nine positions; Khabib takes the top spot in the lightweight division

After making history and winning the lightweight belt at UFC 205, an event that took place last Saturday (12), in New York (USA), Conor McGregor he has one more reason to celebrate: he is now second in the UFC's weight-for-pound rankings, behind only the flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson. The one who also moved up a few places in weight for weight was the Brazilian Chris Cyborg, which advanced four positions and is tenth.

With the victory over Michael Johnson, he regained first place in the lightweight division, surpassing Tony Ferguson, the second. The Russian also debuted in the general ranking, appearing in 15th place. Eddie Alvarez, defeated by Conor, dropped three places on the lightweight list and is now third.

The biggest loser was the bantamweight Miesha Tate. Even announcing his retirement after the setback for Rachel Pennington, the former champion remained in the rankings, but lost nine positions and is now in 10th place. Pennington, Tate's tormentor, moved up three places to 5th. Ronda Rousey, who will face the champion Amanda nunes at UFC 207, on December 30th, he took first place.

Among the midfielders, more changes. Yoel romero is the new number one in the rankings, while Weidman, knocked out by the Cuban, fell to 4th.
