The victory of Tony Ferguson about Rafael dos Anjos in the main fight of UFC Mexico, an event held last Saturday (5), changed the official ranking of the lightweight category. Dos Anjos, who suffered his second consecutive setback, dropped one position and is now third on the list, while Ferguson, his most recent tormentor, moved up two positions and took first place in the category. The Russian Khabib Nurmagomedov appears in second place.
Still among the light ones, Beneil Dariush, who beat Rashid Magomedov in a unanimous decision by the judges, also gained a position and is now eighth. The Russian, in turn, left the list, making way for Will Brooks.
Another relevant change was in the weight-for-pound ranking, which now includes the bantamweight champion Amanda nunes at number 15 on the list. Interestingly, Amanda benefited from Rafael's defeat, which left the overall ranking. The Brazilian Matheus Nicolau, who was recently notified for showing an irregularity in a surprise anti-doping test, also left the flyweight classification.
