Minotauro is UFC champion

UFC-81 just ended in Las Vegas, Nevada, where the Brazilian Rodrigo Minotauro, made world MMA history for becoming the first fighter to become PRIDE and UFC champion. The black belt, after going through several troubles in the fight, suffering a knockdown in the first round, recovered and managed to submit the giant Tim Sylvia with a guillotine choke in the third round.

The other Brazilians on the card, Ricardo Cachorrão returned to the octagon putting on a show and also used the guillotine to submit Rob Yundt in just 1min8s of the fight. The only one who didn't do well was Gleison Tibau, who ended up defeated by Tyson Griffin in a unanimous decision by the judges. The ATT athlete knocked Griffin down in three rounds, but was unable to keep the fight on the ground. Griffin landed good strikes while standing and was scored until the end of the fight.
