The turbulent week of Charles of the Bronx in Mexico City had an unfortunate outcome for the Brazilian fighter. After falling short of the weight limit for his category, the athlete ended up submitted by Ricardo Lamas on the main card of UFC Fight Night México, on Saturday night (5).

However, Do Bronx almost won the duel in the first round. The Brazilian, a jiu-jitsu specialist, was taken down by Lamas in the opening moments of the fight, but managed to get up and land on top. Next, Do Bronx put his vast arsenal of submissions into practice: first, he attempted a hand triangle, and, at the end of the round, he went to the back and sought the rear-naked choke. In one of them, he got the perfect position, but the round ended before he managed to complete the blow.

Do Bronx then sought the fight on the ground immediately in the second round. Initially, the Brazilian fell on top, but saw Lamas reverse his position. Charles tried to get up in a careless manner and gave his rival an opening to use a guillotine, which ended the duel.

In this way, Do Bronx, considered one of the athletes with the best jiu-jitsu in the featherweight division, loses for the second consecutive time by submission, again with a guillotine choke. Lamas is recovering from the defeat suffered by Max Holloway, in June.
