McGregor, who faces Eddie Alvarez on November 12, said he would share important news regarding his future immediately after the fight. An Irish newspaper even published that the fighter would withdraw from activity for “one or two years” so he could dedicate himself to his family.

However, McGregor asked his fans not to listen to the rumors and wait for the official announcement. “They don’t know shit about me or what I’m going to do. Stay tuned for my announcement, but don't listen to people like that. These are people who have nothing to do with what is happening. I will reveal everything at the right time,” he said, in a telephone press conference organized by the UFC.

Even without going into details about the announcement, McGregor clarified that he still feels motivated to fight. “Of course, I love it. I do not stop. That's all I do. I keep showing up, I keep fighting, and I keep providing these incredible events for these incredible sports fans. Of course I love what I do and not only am I not getting tired, I'm actually getting better at it,” he commented.
