Fedor Emelianenko fired from Strikeforce

Fedor is released by Strikeforce

the russian Fedor Emelianenko is no longer part of the group of athletes signed by Strkeforce. After three consecutive defeats, the fighter, who is considered the greatest heavyweight in history, was released by the organization. The announcement was made this Thursday by Dana White during the UFC 133 press conference.

PUBLICITY:

“Having Fedor in the promotion is the same as having Kimbo Slice,” said White, in a controversial tone, making reference to the former street fighter, who participated in the tenth edition of The Ultimate Fighter, the UFC's reality show.

PUBLICITY:

Fedor's career in Strikeforce did not remotely resemble the Russian's brilliant career in Japan. In four appearances, Emelianenko managed just one victory. After debuting with a knockout over Brett Rogers, he was defeated by Brazilians Fabrício Werdum and Antônio Pezão. In his last fight, held this Saturday (30), Fedor was knocked out by Dan Henderson in the final minute of the first round.
