Donald Cerrone He is definitely a “different” fighter. Famous for his “hungry” style of accepting many fights in a short space of time, the North American “Cowboy”, who has a fight scheduled against Kelvin Gastelum at UFC 205, on November 12th, in New York, he is already thinking about the date, location and opponent of his next fight: he wants to face the Brazilian Demian Maia at UFC 207, December 30, in Las Vegas.
“I'm trying to fight at the event on December 30th too. Maybe it will be difficult for me to find someone to fight in the welterweight division, so I think I'll look for someone in the middleweight division. I already spoke to Dana, he said I'm crazy and that he would talk to me after the fight at UFC 205. But I really want to face the Demian Maia. He's there destroying everything, and I like that. It's a good idea to fight him at UFC 207”, said Cerrone, in an interview with the website 'MMA Weekly' (USA).
Cerrone is undefeated since moving up to welterweight, with three consecutive victories, all in 2016: he submitted the Brazilian Alex Cowboy and knocked out Patrick Côté and more recently Rick Story, last August, at UFC 202. Demian Maia, in turn, is on an incredible streak of six straight victories. With no fight scheduled, Demian is waiting for a chance to fight for the category belt.
