“Due to recent comments from Fabricio Werdum, aimed at a valued UFC partner, we will no longer use Werdum on UFC broadcasts in Latin America. Although we respect the right of athletes to express themselves, we believe that the manner in which Werdum acted was unacceptable. This decision does not influence his ability to compete in the next fight, scheduled for December 30th,” said a statement from Ultimate, reproduced on the Combate channel website.

The Brazilian, who was a UFC commentator on the Spanish-language broadcast, showed dissatisfaction with the amounts paid by the brand. Werdum revealed that he used to receive up to US$200 from sponsorship, but now he only has US$5 from Reebok.
