The city of Illinois, in the United States, will be the stage, this Saturday (30), for a historic fight. The Russian Fedor Emelianenko, considered the greatest heavyweight in the history of MMA, will face the North American Dan Henderson, multi-champion in events such as Pride, UFC, Rings and Strikeforce. The fight will be the main attraction of the 36th edition of Strikeforce, an event that will start at 22pm (Brasília time).

Established in the middleweight division and current owner of the Strkeforce light heavyweight belt, Dan Henderson stated that the fight against Fedor in the heavyweight division will be his only adventure in the category.
“In this fight he will be a heavyweight and I will have to drink a lot of water to reach 206lbs (94 kg)”, joked Hendo in an interview with SUPER FIGHTS. “The fight will be at his weight and I have no desire to return to the category after this challenge,” he added.
The show will also feature a women's title fight in the welterweight division. The current champion, the Dutch, Marloes coenen will put its reign at stake against the North American Miesha Tate.
The fight program also features two Brazilians in action, both appearing on the preliminary card. Eduardo Pamplona, who debuted on the right foot in the organization by knocking out Jerron Peoples in June, is looking for his second victory on the show against Tyler stinson. Now the carioca Gesias Cavalcante seeks his first victory in the organization against Bobby Green.
