O Fabrício Werdum's protest against Reebok, official sponsor and supplier of sporting equipment for the UFC, continues to generate controversy, and the Brazilian involved this time José Aldo. Sponsored by Reebok, José Aldo liked the post in which Werdum criticized the logo, as if he were supporting his compatriot's position.
However, the interim featherweight champion soon tried to explain himself and published a message on his social networks – in English – denying that the “like” came from him and defending the brand. “I would like to say that I was not the one who liked Werdum's post wearing a Nike shirt. A while ago I hired someone to take care of my social media accounts and he did that. Reebok is my sponsor and I just have to thank them for all their support”, assured Aldo.
Without fighting since last July, when he defeated Frankie Edgar at UFC 200 and won the interim featherweight title, the future of José Aldo in the octagon it is unknown. The Manauara player announced his retirement after not receiving the long-awaited rematch against Conor McGregor and assured that he would no longer fight MMA, however, days ago the fighter posted a message stating that "good things are going to happen", which, supposedly, could be linked to his return to Ultimate.
