The soap opera involving a possible confrontation between Michael Bisping e Georges St Pierre. After the UFC middleweight champion declared that he had agreed to face GSP at UFC 206, on December 10, in Toronto, Canada, St. Pierre himself, through a video published on his social networks, tried to clarify the situation and ended the hopes of the Englishman and the fans who were waiting for the duel.
“Nothing would make me happier in the world than facing you in Toronto, Michael. Last week, I met with Ari (Emanuel, one of the new owners of the UFC) and made peace with Dana (White, president of the UFC), I tried to work things out, but unfortunately, now, it's not going to happen. I hope things change soon. Thank you”, said the Canadian fighter.
St. Pierre, now 35 years old, was welterweight champion on two occasions: between 2006 and 2007 and between 2008 and 2013. The Canadian left his position as champion when he gave up the belt to temporarily step away from MMA. In his career, St. Pierre beat names like Matt hugs, Jon Fitch, Jake Shields, Josh koscheck, Thiago Pitbull, Among others.
