After using his social networks to provoke 'Reebok', the UFC's official sponsor and supplier of sporting equipment, when he posted a montage in which he appears wearing a 'Nike' shirt, a competing logo, Fabricio Werdum explained the reason why he had such an attitude. According to the former Ultimate heavyweight champion, it was calculated and was part of a protest, claiming that the organization's fighters are forced to accept the contract due to contract issues.

“I posted protesting. In fact, I'm not obliged to wear Reebok, I don't have a contract with them. For those who don't know, they only sponsor during the fight. You have to use it the week of the fight, it's in the contract. But I don't have a contract with her outside of the UFC, I can post whatever I want. I am not obliged. It was a protest. Before, we could wear whatever we wanted. Today there is a table with Reebok. And it doesn't compare to what we earned before. No one is happy, but it's in the contract. You have to sign and that's it. But there is no option”, explained the fighter during a conversation with his fans on a social network.

Fabricio Werdum returns to the octagon at UFC 207, on December 30th, in Las Vegas, when he will rematch Cain Velásquez, whom he already defeated by submission in June 2015 and, at the time, won the heavyweight belt.
