After the UFC made it official that cody garbrandt was chosen to challenge the bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz at UFC 207, December 30th, Bryan caraway, fifth in the ranking, wasted no time and took to social media to try to secure his next challenge. The chosen one was Brazilian John Lineker, second in the category ranking.
“John Lineker, I know you will sign the contract, let's make it happen! My pen is ready. You are a legend, let's sign it. I want to fight in 2016! Caraway x Lineker is awesome! I want big fights!” Caraway wrote on social media.
Bryan caraway, who is the ex-champion's boyfriend Miesha Tate, comes from two consecutive victories, the last one over the promise aljamain sterling, in May this year. At 27 years old, the North American has six wins and two losses in the UFC, the last of which was against the Brazilian Raphael AssunçãoIn 2014.
Lineker, in turn, is more experienced than Bryan in Ultimate, despite being a year younger. Former flyweight, the Brazilian moved up to bantamweight and won the four fights he had at the new weight, the most recent against John Dodson, October 1st. In total, there are already 10 victories – six in a row – and only two negative results in the UFC.
