Former UFC champion promises to retire in case of another defeat

After Urijah Faber announces he will retire at the end of the year, another important name on the world stage may be saying goodbye to MMA. Former UFC welterweight champion (up to 77kg), John hendricks revealed that he may “hang up his gloves” in case of another defeat in his next commitment, against Neil Magny at UFC 207, December 30, in Las Vegas.

“I lost the last two fairly. I know I lost. Realistically, if I go there and lose, it's time to say I'm done. I'm not going to keep fighting until I find someone I can beat”, Hendricks declared on the North American program “ESPN's Five Round”.

Bigg Rigg, as he is known, lost his last two fights. First, he was knocked out by Stephen Thompson, in February this year. Then, at UFC 200, in July, he lost to Kelvin Gastelum by points. At 33 years old, he hasn't won since March 2015, when he defeated Matt Brown at UFC 185 in a unanimous decision by the judges.

Hendricks became welterweight champion by beating Robbie Lawler at UFC 171, in March 2014, after Georges St Pierre retire and leave the belt vacant. In total, he has 12 wins and five losses in Ultimate, having beaten names like Carlos Condit, Jon Fitch and Josh koscheck.
