At 37, Faber announces retirement after his next fight

Former bantamweight challenger, Faber announced that the duel against Brad Pickett, on November 17th, will be the last of his career

Veteran's career Urijah faber in MMA is very close to having an end point. The 37-year-old American announced that he will retire after his fight against Brad pickett, which takes place at UFC Sacramento, December 17th. Interestingly, Faber will fight “at home”, given that he lives in the city and built his gym there.

“To be honest with you, I'm super excited to fight in Sacramento. My people are from there, I built my team there. It's like my family, it's going to be a really cool event. I was already thinking about my retirement, and this will be my last fight. It's the perfect time and place to do it, and it's going to be epic to do it in front of the people I love”, revealed the athlete, in an interview with the North American program 'The MMA Hour'.

With 43 professional fights, Faber is considered one of the main names in the lighter categories of the sport. Former featherweight champion of the WEC, now defunct MMA organization, the “California Kid”, as he is known, has challenged for the UFC belt on four occasions, but was defeated each time. In total, he has nine wins and six losses in the organization.
