Coming off two consecutive losses in the UFC, Rogério Minotouro was scheduled to attempt rehabilitation in front of the veteran Rich Franklin at UFC 133, but a shoulder injury during preparation for the fight forced the Brazilian to withdraw from the event.
The first option to replace Minotouro on the card was fellow Brazilian Fábio Maldonado, Rogério's teammate, but citing lack of time to prepare, the fighter refused the duel.
With the output of Rogerio Minotouro of the fight program, UFC 133, an event that takes place on August 6th, in Philadelphia, has only three Brazilians scheduled for the show: Vitor belfort faces Yoshihiro Akiyama, Rani Yaya will measure forces with Chad Mendes and Rafael “Sapo” Natal will face Costantinos Phillippou.
